US Takes Full Control of Concrete Plants on Gaza Border to Seal Terror Tunnels

Two concrete plants established near the Gaza border to seal Hamas tunnels are transitioning from Israeli to full American control and funding. These plants, located in Nahal Oz and Kerem Shalom, were built in recent months and operated by contractors on behalf of the Israeli Defense Ministry to produce concrete for filling underground tunnels detected by the IDF along the Gaza Strip.

The IDF continues to discover tunnels in the so-called "yellow line" area, and the concrete plants enable large-scale sealing operations by supplying significant amounts of concrete to fill these subterranean passages. Until now, the plants were managed and financed by Israel, but responsibility is now shifting to the US military command based in Kiryat Gat, which will assume operational management and funding.

Contractors running the plants have been informed by the Israeli Defense Ministry that their employer will change from the Israeli government to the United States. This move follows concerns from previous conflicts when construction materials, including concrete sent into Gaza for reconstruction, were seized by Hamas and used to repair or build new tunnels. The transfer aims to improve oversight and prevent such misuse.

No official response was provided by Defense Minister Israel Katz's office or the Defense Ministry at the time of publication. The shift reflects ongoing efforts to curb Hamas's tunnel infrastructure while managing reconstruction materials entering Gaza under tighter supervision.
