Comedian Nancy Brandes Recalls Near-Death Battle with Blood Infection

Israeli comedian Nancy Brandes shared his harrowing experience during a recent hospitalization caused by a severe bacterial infection affecting his blood. In an interview on Hadar Miller's podcast, Brandes recounted that during the first week of his hospital stay, doctors gave him little chance of survival. He required daily blood transfusions and suffered significant memory loss, unable to recall many events from his time in the hospital and even before.

Despite the grim prognosis and memory challenges, Brandes maintained a strong and optimistic mindset, confident he would recover. He emphasized the importance of positive thinking in aiding the body's fight against illness. Brandes also highlighted how he kept the hospital staff's spirits up by performing daily stand-up comedy routines, which deeply moved the medical team when he was discharged.
