Guy Avner, Deputy Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo, has issued an unusual challenge to New York politician Zohren Memdani, inviting him to a one-on-one boxing match. This provocative move follows Memdani's inflammatory statements against Israel and Jews, which Avner and many in the Israeli and Jewish communities view as dangerous and inciting violence. Avner posted a viral video on social media, filmed in a tank top and sunglasses, directly addressing Memdani in English and proposing the boxing event as a charity fundraiser.

In an interview on the program "HaOlam HaBoker," Avner explained his choice of a boxing ring as the venue, emphasizing that it represents a controlled, rule-bound environment where opponents must stand by their words. He sharply criticized Memdani, accusing him of provoking widespread anger and violence with his rhetoric against the IDF, Israel, and Jews worldwide. Avner stated, "Zohren Memdani is a dangerous man. His statements cause violence all over the world."
