Israeli Musician Akiva Natan Releases New Single 'I Will Not Fear' Inspired by War Times

Israeli singer-songwriter and violinist Akiva Natan has released a new single titled "I Will Not Fear," featuring an original melody set to words from the Havdalah prayer: "Behold God is my salvation, I will trust and not fear." The song was composed during one of the Saturday evenings amid the recent war, capturing the emotional transition from the peacefulness of Shabbat to the harsh realities of conflict and uncertainty. This moment, often filled with tension and loneliness for many Israelis, inspired Natan to create a melody that embraces fear with faith, gentleness, and security rather than avoidance.

Recorded entirely live, the song offers a simple yet evocative tune that breathes new life into ancient words, providing listeners with a space for hope and comfort. Over the past year, Natan has performed "I Will Not Fear" at numerous concerts, singing circles, and study sessions. At 37, Natan is also a music therapist and workshop facilitator, blending his musical creativity with emotional healing, particularly supporting soldiers coping with post-traumatic stress from the war.

Drawing inspiration from Jewish texts, Hasidic and Kabbalistic teachings, nature, and inner journeys, Natan lives in Jerusalem and leads creative and growth circles nationwide. "I Will Not Fear" is the first single from his upcoming album "Do Not Give Up," scheduled for release in September 2026. The album was recorded live to preserve the energy and authenticity of the performances and features prominent musicians such as David Dagmi, Daniel Avrin, and Shani Broner. The production was led by guitarist and producer Itamar Levi, who crafted a vibrant and deep sound for the project.
