Israeli artist turns tense Gaza night into new song
Creator Achia Tamir has released a new song, "Loham" ("Warrior"), inspired by his military service in Gaza. He said one of the key moments behind the lyrics was a tense night when his entire company was woken for a briefing after intelligence indicated a possible raid on the outpost where the soldiers were stationed.
Tamir described the fear, uncertainty and alertness that surrounded the possible attack, including concerns about threats emerging from tunnels in the area. The incident ended without casualties, but he said it left a lasting mark. "The scar remained, along with many other scars that are engraved and do not let go," he wrote, adding that the song was written about and because of those experiences.
In a message accompanying the song, Tamir also said it is acceptable to break down, be angry, be afraid and even shout, but emphasized the importance of finding a way to get back up and keep moving forward.
