Eisenkot Tops Bennett in New Polls Across Key Measures
Gadi Eisenkot is further strengthening his position near the top of the anti-Netanyahu camp, according to surveys published on Channel 12 News. The polls found that he is viewed more favorably than Naftali Bennett both among the general public and within the change bloc.
In the general public’s view of who is better suited to be prime minister, 33% chose Eisenkot, compared with 21% for Bennett. Another 38% said neither man is suitable. Among change-bloc voters, Eisenkot’s lead over Bennett on the same question grows to 10 percentage points, reinforcing his standing as the leading candidate in the camp opposing Benjamin Netanyahu.
The polling also examined possible political alliances. Among opposition voters, 44% said Bennett, Yair Lapid and Eisenkot should run together, while 37% preferred separate lists. But the most damaging result for Bennett was on who should head a joint slate, where 52% of opposition voters picked Eisenkot and only 34% chose Bennett.
Bennett also struggled on questions of loyalty to the camp. Among opposition voters, 34% said he is more likely to join Netanyahu after the election, while only 19% said that about Eisenkot.
