On Saturday night, Jerusalem District police and Border Police officers moved against protesters at Paris Square in Jerusalem after a march without a permit blocked roads and used loudspeakers in violation of police terms. The police said the protest quickly turned into public disorder, including attempts to block traffic and use amplification equipment contrary to the agreed conditions for the rally.

According to police, the restrictions on demonstrations at Paris Square, including rules on time, place and manner, had already been given legal force by the High Court in petition 353/24. Officers warned the participants to stop using the sound system and comply with the conditions. When they refused, police seized the remaining amplification equipment.

Police said the protesters had used high-volume speakers before the end of Shabbat, near residential homes, causing harm to the local way of life. After another announcement warning that order was being violated, officers used what they described as reasonable force to restore public order and reopen the roads.

Police emphasized that they allow lawful protest, but will act firmly against disruption and harm to daily life. They also noted that Paris Square is a major traffic junction and that blocking it causes significant congestion. In a similar incident only days earlier, six left-wing protesters were arrested there after blocking roads and ignoring police calls to disperse. By the end of the operation, all roads in the area had been reopened and normal traffic resumed.
