Trump to Meet Middle East Leaders at G7, Not Netanyahu
An American official said Thursday afternoon that U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to meet with leaders from Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and other Middle Eastern countries on the margins of the G7 summit in France, scheduled for June 15 to 17. The meetings are taking place against the backdrop of an expected nuclear deal with Iran, which could be signed in the coming days, possibly as soon as Sunday.
The official also said Trump will not meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as part of his talks with Middle Eastern leaders. The report comes as Netanyahu remains subject to an international arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
France, which is bound by the Rome Statute, is obligated to comply with that warrant.
