Metula mayor slams government after latest rocket fire, says children fled to shelters
Metula council chief David Azoulay reacted to the recent launches toward border communities and issued a sharp rebuke of the Israeli government. He said that 12 interceptions had taken place, yet, in his words, “you are silent.”
Azoulay addressed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and the IDF spokesperson, accusing them of failing to act after what he described as a crossed “red line” in Israel’s security. He said the government had promised that the line would lead to a strike in Beirut’s Dahieh district.
According to Azoulay, children once again ran frightened, still in pajamas, to protected spaces in his area. He contrasted that with Dahieh, saying life there continues as usual.
He concluded that this is what “deterrred leadership” looks like, blaming both the U.S. president and Hezbollah for the situation. He added that the government is strong in statements but, in his view, weak in performance.
