Israeli Prosecutors Add New Sexual Offense Charges Against Lawyer Idan Dvir

The Israeli State Prosecutor's Office filed an amended indictment on Thursday against lawyer Idan Dvir at the Central District Court, adding a new complainant and an additional charge of attempted inducement to prostitution under aggravating circumstances. The indictment now includes 11 charges related to 11 female soldiers. The charges against Dvir include rape, attempted rape, forcible indecent acts, multiple counts of indecent acts, attempted inducement to prostitution, sexual harassment, and other offenses.

Following the amendment, the court approved the prosecution's request to keep Dvir in custody until the conclusion of the legal proceedings. Meanwhile, Dvir continues to pursue a defamation lawsuit against one of the complainants, seeking 50,000 shekels after she called him a "fraud." Despite the new indictment and his detention, he refuses to withdraw the lawsuit.

The complainant's legal representative, attorney Nira Yadin, stated that due to the case's confidentiality, she could not provide further details but confirmed the ongoing defamation suit is causing additional harm to the complainant, who is suffering from severe psychological distress. The defense has requested dismissal of the defamation claim, arguing it is a strategic attempt to silence the victim and noting the case has been pending for over a year despite being a summary proceeding.
