Pediatrician in Tel Aviv Clinic Charged with Multiple Sexual Offenses Against Employee
A 74-year-old pediatrician from Lod, Merabi Genshvili, employed at a Clalit Health Services clinic in Tel Aviv, has been charged with repeatedly committing sexual offenses against a female coworker. The indictment, filed this week at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court by the Tel Aviv District Prosecutor's Office, alleges that over several months in 2025, Genshvili exploited the workplace environment to carry out numerous unwanted sexual acts against the employee.
According to the indictment, the victim began working at the clinic in early 2025, and shortly thereafter, the accused started touching her inappropriately, including stroking her head, shoulders, face, and back without her consent. The acts escalated to forced kisses on the neck and face, grabbing, and attempts to engage her sexually despite her repeated refusals and efforts to escape.
One incident on January 29, 2025, involved the accused pushing the victim onto an examination bed, lifting her shirt, touching her under her bra, and placing his hand over his genital area against her will. Other episodes included forcing her to touch him and physically restraining her, with the victim only escaping after citing the presence of patients and needing to return to work.
In a separate event near Purim 2025, the accused allegedly hugged the victim, pressed her against a wall, lifted her shirt and bra, and touched her breasts and genital area over clothing, ignoring her pleas to stop. The acts were interrupted on March 30, 2025, when the clinic manager entered the room, at which point the accused kissed the victim on the face and told her, "I ask you not to touch me anymore," before leaving.
The prosecution asserts that these repeated offenses were committed without the victim's free consent, sometimes using force, for sexual gratification, satisfaction, or humiliation. The accused faces charges of indecent acts by force and indecent acts in general.
