Pediatrician Charged with Sexual Assault Against Clinic Worker in Tel Aviv
The Israeli prosecution revealed on Thursday that a 74-year-old pediatrician, Marbi Genshvili from Lod, has been indicted for forcibly committing indecent acts against a female employee at a Clalit Health Services clinic in Tel Aviv where he worked. According to the indictment, throughout 2025, Genshvili repeatedly subjected the employee to unwanted sexual advances, starting with touching and kissing and escalating to more severe acts, some involving force. One incident involved him following her into the staff room, locking the door, and forcibly kissing her despite her repeated requests to stop, telling her, "Give me a little more." In another case, he pushed her onto a treatment bed, performed indecent acts, and placed her hand on his genitals over his clothes against her will. On a separate occasion, when she entered his office to deliver medical documents, he closed the door, lifted her shirt, and committed indecent acts while she pleaded for him to stop until she managed to escape.
This case follows recent reports about another pediatrician, Dr. Leonid Zeitlin, also accused of sexual offenses against a patient and whose indictment was reportedly concealed from patients at Ichilov Hospital. Patients with canceled appointments were told Zeitlin was abroad, and staff in the orthopedic department avoided commenting on his absence. The article also briefly mentions a separate case involving a teacher arrested on suspicion of sexual offenses against a 12-year-old student.
The indictment against Genshvili highlights ongoing concerns about sexual misconduct within Israeli medical institutions and the handling of such cases by healthcare providers.
