72-Year-Old Haifa Man Arrested After Allegedly Filming Child and Attacking Mother with Hammer
Police arrested a 72-year-old Haifa resident on suspicion that he filmed a young girl while she was using the restroom in the Merubav Park in the Ramat Begin neighborhood of the city.
According to police, a confrontation then broke out between the girl's father and the suspect. The man left the scene, but returned shortly afterward carrying a hammer and allegedly attacked the girl's mother, who was also there.
Residents and a police officer who were at the park managed to restrain the suspect until officers arrived and arrested him for questioning. Police said they will ask a court tomorrow to extend his detention, depending on the needs and findings of the investigation.
