Nati Ganon Rebuilds Life and Family After Wife Shiran's Murder at Nova Festival

Three weeks ago, Sheba Medical Center shared a heartfelt post about Nati Ganon, a survivor of the deadly Nova festival attack on October 7, where his wife Shiran was murdered and he was severely wounded. After a long and arduous recovery, Nati returned to care for their three children. Amid the tragedy, he found new love with Bat-El, and the couple recently welcomed a baby girl, symbolizing hope and resilience.

Nati, 42, was critically injured in the attack that killed his wife Shiran, 38, mother of their children Ilai (18), Ori (14), and Mai (12). He spent 400 days hospitalized, undergoing six surgeries to save his leg. The couple met in their youth and married after three years together. On the night of the attack, they attended the Nova festival in the southern Israeli town of Re'im, where gunmen opened fire. Shiran was shot in the thigh and later killed, while Nati was shot in the knee and back but survived after being rescued by soldiers and a civilian driver.

Despite public skepticism and hurtful comments about the speed of his new relationship with Bat-El, who met Nati during his rehabilitation, the couple married in June 2024. Bat-El, 40, is completing law studies and has embraced Nati's children, gradually gaining their acceptance, especially from the initially resistant middle child, Ori. The family openly honors Shiran's memory, keeping her presence alive in their lives.

Nati emphasizes his gratitude for survival and his determination to build a new life for his children. He remains critical of the circumstances that allowed the attack to happen but finds strength in faith and family.
