Barak Nixon, who survived the Nova music festival massacre on October 7 and later became religious, and his wife Li-Yam have announced that they are expecting their first child. The couple married in January in a modest ceremony that the article describes as a sign of “the real victory of the people of Israel.”
Li-Yam posted the news on Instagram, sharing an ultrasound image next to a tiny baby outfit and writing, “Thank you, my Creator, for everything!” The post drew many congratulations from followers, who wished the couple good news and healthy childbirth.
The report also recalls Nixon’s earlier comments after his engagement on Tu B’Av, when he told C14 that the wedding’s purpose was clear: they were doing it “for Him” and hoped the celebration would be as God wanted. He said, “God blessed me with a righteous and modest woman. Together our goal is to build a Temple for the Creator inside our home.”
Nixon survived the October 7 attack by hiding for 8.5 hours in a chemical toilet at the Nova site. In a previous interview with Channel 14, he said he spent those hours making promises to God. He described how gunmen fired into the toilets, and said that when he emerged, they were told they were the last three Jews alive in the festival area. He added that in six nearby portable toilets, they found nine bodies.
