In recent days, numerous WhatsApp users in Israel have experienced sudden account blocks without any apparent violation or clear explanation from the company. Reports indicate that some users were initially disconnected from WhatsApp Web, followed by being logged out of the mobile app with a notification stating their account was blocked. Affected users, many of whom rely on WhatsApp as a key work tool, reported significant disruptions in communication with clients, work groups, and important contacts. While some accounts were reinstated after submitting a review request, others faced repeated blocks or permanent bans without further appeal options. The cause of this wave of blocks remains unclear. Experts advise users who are blocked to file an appeal through the app, wait for the review, and once restored, to temporarily avoid sending links, adding people to groups, using automation, or logging into WhatsApp Web until the account stabilizes.
