Mobileye to Supply Stellantis with Cloud-Based Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Starting 2027

Mobileye, the Israeli company founded by Amnon Shashua, announced it will provide Stellantis with advanced cloud-based driver assistance technology. This move comes amid increasing demand from automakers for connected safety systems. Selected Stellantis models, including brands like Jeep, Chrysler, Fiat, and Peugeot, will integrate Mobileye's Road Experience Management (REM) technology starting in 2027. The system uses crowdsourced road data to enhance lane keeping and enable hands-free driving, though regulators still require drivers to remain attentive.

ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) is one of the fastest-growing automotive technologies, with manufacturers competing to offer more advanced safety and convenience features while generating higher-margin software revenue. Initial applications of Mobileye’s system are expected in select Stellantis vehicles in the U.S. as early as next year, with broader rollout depending on vehicle platform and configuration.

Stellantis will be the fifth of the world’s top ten automakers to contribute data to Mobileye’s REM platform, which currently covers over 95% of public roads in the U.S. and Europe. Last year, more than 8 million vehicles recorded 34 billion miles of data on the platform. Mobileye’s Jerusalem-based technology collects road data via front-facing cameras equipped with EyeQ chips and combines it with cloud-based mapping to provide real-time updates on lane markings, road layouts, and construction zones.
