Father of Abducted Inbar Hyman Welcomes Terrorist's Killing as Justice Served

Haim Hyman, father of Inbar Hyman who was abducted and murdered during the October 7 attack, described the killing of the terrorist responsible for her kidnapping as "moments of joy amid darkness." In a Tuesday interview with ynet, he said he was informed of the terrorist's death by the officer in charge, calling it a form of consolation and closure that justice has been served. Although not the first such killing, he emphasized its significance.

Inbar Hyman was at the Nova party on October 7 to assist people affected by psychedelic drug use when she fled the area and was killed by terrorists while hiding in orchards. Her body was held captive for nearly two years. Hyman recounted how his daughter hid under the stage but fled with two strangers when terrorists arrived. They escaped through avocado orchards near Kibbutz Re'im, but Inbar was captured after being surrounded by dozens of terrorists. According to testimonies, she was ordered onto a motorcycle and killed when she resisted.

Hyman reflected on the passage of time, saying it only intensifies the longing and pain rather than healing it. He expressed gratitude toward the IDF and Shin Bet for their ongoing efforts in Gaza, stating that the terrorists now live on borrowed time. Over the weekend, the IDF killed Taher Ahmad Salem Abd Alwahid, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist who led the abduction of Inbar at the Nova party.

Inbar’s aunt, Hana Cohen, also commented on the killing, describing the emotional difficulty it brings but acknowledging that justice is slowly being achieved. She said seeing the terrorist’s face is chilling and reminded her of how horrifying it must have been for Inbar to see them, reopening old wounds despite the sense of partial closure.
