Israeli Exports Hit Record $169 Billion in 2025, Surpassing Expectations
Official data from Israel's Foreign Trade Administration, presented to Economy and Industry Minister Nir Barkat, reveal that Israeli exports reached an unprecedented $169 billion in 2025. This figure exceeded conservative forecasts of $165 billion and surpassed the previous record of over $166 billion set in 2022. The export growth occurred despite geopolitical tensions, international boycotts, global shipping disruptions, and currency fluctuations.
The expansion was primarily driven by the high-tech, software, and research and development sectors, which accelerated in the second half of the year. These gains offset stagnation in traditional industries such as chemicals and pharmaceuticals, which faced market barriers for physical goods. Analysis combining Foreign Trade Administration and Central Bureau of Statistics data showed a decline in exports to European countries due to logistical and political challenges, while emerging markets experienced rapid economic growth.
Regionally, significant export increases were recorded in Asian markets including Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, and Japan. India saw a 7% rise in exports across its three Israeli trade offices in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Exports to Serbia surged by approximately 33%, and Azerbaijan also showed notable growth.
Minister Barkat emphasized the strength of Israel's economy and innovation, stating, "These numbers are clear proof of the power of Israeli entrepreneurship. Despite all crises, the world continues to choose Blue and White innovation." He announced plans to expand the foreign trade network by opening five new economic attaché offices in Miami, Buenos Aires, Athens, Belgrade, and Addis Ababa, increasing the total to 60 offices worldwide. Currently, the 55 existing offices generated $1.2 billion in export deals in 2025.
Foreign Trade Administration Director Roy Fisher highlighted the role of economic diplomacy in overcoming barriers and creating opportunities, crediting focused leadership for the record results. The new attachés are expected to strengthen Israel's presence in key demand centers and help more exporters enter global markets.
