IDF Warns 5,000 Daily Flight Cancellations Possible at Ben Gurion Airport Due to US Tanker Jets

Amid escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf between the US and Iran, Israeli authorities held an emergency meeting at Ben Gurion Airport on July 20, 2026, to address the growing presence of American tanker aircraft at Israeli airports. The influx of these American tankers, driven by the regional military escalation, has created significant congestion at both civilian and military airports in Israel. The Airports Authority CEO sent a stern letter to the Ministry of Transportation highlighting the severity of the situation.
