Iranian Parliament Speaker Warns of Ending Patience Amid US Military Buildup in Region

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and a key figure in diplomatic talks with the United States alongside Iran's president and foreign minister, issued a stern warning against the US. He criticized the ongoing US military buildup in the region, accusing Washington of hypocrisy by claiming to seek to prevent war while continuously sending new military equipment. Ghalibaf said, "They are betting that our intelligence is as low as their IQ," signaling deep mistrust.

He further stated that Iran has reached a stage of recognizing these American maneuvers and has prepared itself for confrontation if necessary. Ghalibaf emphasized that actions must align with words, warning that trust cannot be maintained if the current situation persists. His remarks come shortly after regional mediators proposed a ten-day ceasefire to explore ways to implement an existing memorandum of understanding.
