IAI Unveils ELLYON, Advanced AI-Driven Electronic Warfare and Intelligence Aircraft
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) introduced its new next-generation mission aircraft, ELLYON, on Monday. The platform integrates electronic warfare, advanced intelligence gathering, and artificial intelligence into a single airborne system. ELLYON combines capabilities such as electronic spectrum jamming, signals intelligence (SIGINT), long-range radar (SAR/GMTI), electro-optical sensors, and satellite communications (SATCOM).
Designed for stand-off missions spanning hundreds of kilometers, the aircraft reduces exposure to threats while providing real-time intelligence insights. Its AI-based mission management system processes sensor data to deliver actionable intelligence to command centers and other aerial platforms. ELLYON is adaptable for integration with various advanced business jets.
The electronic warfare suite enables simultaneous jamming of radar, communications, and GNSS signals, alongside self-defense features including threat detection and electronic countermeasures. Boaz Levy, IAI’s chairman, highlighted the company’s decades-long leadership in advanced mission aircraft development and noted that ELLYON continues this legacy by combining proven operational experience with cutting-edge technology to offer significant tactical advantages.
Dror Bar, CEO of Elta Systems and IAI deputy CEO, described ELLYON as a technological leap that enhances stand-off operational capabilities and electromagnetic domain control, significantly shortening intelligence cycles and expanding operational freedom in complex environments. The aircraft builds on IAI’s operationally proven technologies, including miniaturized sensors, algorithms, and AI-based software, and joins IAI’s family of mission aircraft with extensive operational experience in air defense and intelligence superiority.
