Singer Omer Adam and Fiancée Sasha Israelovitch Ask Wedding Guests to Donate to Charity Instead of Gifts

Israeli singer Omer Adam and his fiancée Sasha Israelovitch are set to marry in a small ceremony with close family and friends in the fishing village of Portofino, Italy, in one month. Instead of accepting traditional wedding gifts or checks, the couple has requested that guests donate money to the nonprofit "A Child's Smile," which supports children and youth battling cancer and serious illnesses, or to the Weizmann Institute. Adam has a history of volunteering with "A Child's Smile," performing at their summer events and organizing special occasions where children can fulfill their dreams by singing alongside him on stage.

This decision likely means forgoing hundreds of thousands of shekels in wedding gifts, which could have covered the event's expenses, but the couple chose to direct funds toward charitable causes. The wedding festivities will span several days from August 23 to 27, with the ceremony taking place in Portofino. Recently, Israelovitch celebrated her bachelorette party in Sardinia, while Adam spent time in New York and attended the World Cup final in New Jersey, where he also met singer Shakira.

The engagement, announced in early April, surprised many as Adam proposed after only a few months of dating Israelovitch, roughly a year after his high-profile breakup with model Yael Shelbia, with whom he had a three-year relationship.
