Israir Adds Three New Female Pilots Amid Fleet Expansion with Airbus A330s

Israir Airlines has announced the addition of three new female pilots to its flight crews, increasing the total number of female pilots in the company to seven. This expansion follows the recruitment of 15 pilots from a pool of 144 candidates. The new pilots represent nearly 10% of Israir's operational pilot workforce. The move coincides with the airline's recent acquisition of two wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft, which will enhance its operational capabilities and enable the expansion of international routes and flight frequencies.

Hagai Knaan, Israir's Vice President of Operations, emphasized that the inclusion of the three new female pilots reflects the company's commitment to excellence, diversity, and equal opportunity. He highlighted that the growth in the airline's fleet and pilot teams supports meeting increasing demand and expanding the company's destination network. Israir views this development as a significant step in promoting women to key roles within the company, particularly in the cockpit.

The airline expects that the expanded pilot roster and new aircraft will strengthen its competitive position and allow it to better serve growing passenger demand with more destinations and flights.
