Challenge Airlines Transforms Office Into Immersive Aviation Cargo Experience

Challenge Airlines has redesigned its new 1,600-square-meter office in Shoham, Israel, to reflect its core business in air cargo logistics through an immersive aviation-themed environment. Moving from outdated offices, the company sought a workspace that promotes openness, transparency, and better communication, while telling the story of its operations and history. The office, located on the top floor of a new building near Highway 6, includes 600 square meters of terraces offering panoramic views.

The design team, led by architect Shay Shaul and branding manager Anta Schwartzman, collaborated with aviation design specialists Charles Weinberg and Shay Ben-Ami from the Belgian studio WEINBENAMI. They created key features such as a flight simulator room and quiet rest pods for employees, integrating authentic aircraft parts like a coffee table made from a cargo plane component and airplane seats in rest areas. The flight simulator, inspired by the Boeing 747’s front curvature and constructed from wood, serves as both a professional training tool and a central architectural icon.

The office layout emphasizes open spaces with minimal enclosed offices to maintain the view and foster interaction, while the rest pods mimic airplane passenger cabins to provide quiet, focused work zones. Materials such as brushed aluminum, glass, and plexiglass, along with cirrus cloud motifs on glass walls, reinforce the aviation theme. The CEO’s office features a memorabilia wall dedicated to the company’s aircraft, and meeting rooms display panoramic photos of company planes and airport scenes.

This innovative design approach transforms the office into an experiential space that educates visitors and employees about Challenge Airlines’ heritage and air cargo expertise, blending functional workspace with storytelling and aviation culture.
