High-Tech Enthusiast's Givatayim Apartment Features Black, White, and Space-Themed Rooms
A single-occupant high-tech professional's new apartment in Givatayim has been designed with a unique blend of functionality and fantasy, reflecting his passion for space and science. Interior designer Yael Shavit integrated practical storage solutions, such as a multi-material wall of cabinets with sliding galvanized metal mesh doors, a padded bench with shoe drawers, and a concealed electrical and communication cabinet near the entrance. The apartment's elongated layout limited seating options in the narrow living room, so Shavit chose open arrangements and special furniture by designer Marcel Wanders, incorporating a green, burgundy, and light gray rug to unify the space.
The kitchen, favored by the cooking enthusiast owner, features a U-shaped layout with metallic gray lower cabinets, a dark work surface, hexagonal wooden wall tiles, and tall black cabinets for appliances and storage. The apartment lacks a traditional dining area to preserve space, instead offering a console table that extends into a three-meter dining table for formal occasions. A glass-enclosed balcony with sliding windows and playful outdoor furniture continues the apartment's imaginative design.
The private wing includes a master bedroom painted in dark graphite gray on walls and ceiling, highlighting the owner's art collection and light wooden lighting fixtures. A large custom wall cabinet cleverly conceals the bathroom entrance, and a patterned bench at the foot of the bed matches the living room rug, doubling as extra seating during gatherings. The home office, used extensively by the owner, is decorated in calming light blue and white tones with a suspended bookshelf featuring sliding galvanized metal doors, allowing for customizable Zoom backgrounds.
The standout feature is the TV room near the entrance, designed as an extreme fantasy space. The walls and cabinets were painted by an artist in a "Space Opera" theme, complemented by a solar system-inspired light fixture, a large modular seating system, and a PlayStation console, creating an ideal relaxation and entertainment area for the resident and guests.
