Car Ramming and Stone-Throwing Erupt at Elad Yeshiva Amid Sabbath Protests

A violent incident occurred at the Torah BeTiferet yeshiva in Elad during Sabbath protests against violations of the holy day. According to yeshiva students, in recent weeks, marginalized youths have been parking near the yeshiva and engaging in Sabbath desecration, prompting students to physically intervene to protect the sanctity of the day. This led to confrontations between the students, local residents, and these youths.

On the latest Sabbath, tensions escalated when a nearby resident drove a vehicle into two students, injuring them. One student was evacuated by ambulance during the Sabbath. Following this, clashes resumed on Saturday night as some youths began throwing stones at the students, resulting in multiple injuries. Police forces were called to the scene to restore order.

The yeshiva's strategic location at the city entrance makes it vulnerable to these disturbances, as the youths reportedly park there out of fear of driving inside the ultra-Orthodox city. The incident has deeply unsettled the yeshiva community, who have been actively protesting to prevent Sabbath violations.
