Tens of Thousands Prepare to Visit the Holy Ari's Tomb in Safed for 454th Anniversary
Preparations are underway in Safed ahead of the 454th yahrzeit (anniversary) of Rabbi Isaac Luria Ashkenazi, known as the Holy Ari, which will take place this coming Sunday, the 5th of Menachem Av. The city, renowned as a center of Kabbalah, is readying to welcome tens of thousands of pilgrims who come to pray at the ancient cemetery where the Ari is buried.
In a moving video obtained by 'Bachadrei Charedim,' devout Jews are seen using the eve of the Sabbath to repaint and refurbish the tomb of the Holy Ari. This effort aims to prepare the site for the large influx of worshippers who will gather to pray for both communal and personal needs.
Rabbi Isaac Luria passed away on the 5th of Av in the year 1572 at about 38 years old. Since then, his grave in Safed has been a major pilgrimage site, especially on his yahrzeit, attracting thousands from across Israel and the world seeking spiritual connection and blessings.
