Iran Warns Hezbollah to Prepare for Escalating Military Conflict in Lebanon

The Lebanese newspaper Nidaa al-Watan, known for its critical stance on Hezbollah, reported on Friday that Iran has sent a stark message to its regional allies, including Hezbollah, signaling that the "waiting period is ending." The directive emphasizes prioritizing preparations for potential military scenarios. This message was conveyed during meetings held in Tehran with senior figures from the Iranian axis, including Hezbollah representatives.

Sources told the newspaper that the message to Hezbollah was unequivocal: the group must fully prepare for any developments, as any new conflict would differ significantly from previous rounds, potentially being broader and more intense, with simultaneous engagements on multiple fronts. Reuters added that Tehran views Hezbollah as its most valuable regional asset and has no intention of relinquishing its influence over the group.

According to the report, organizational and operational readiness measures have already begun within the resistance axis to brace for any decisions that might be made in the near future should hostilities escalate. Journalist Alan Sarkis, who published the report, noted that these developments contradict efforts by the Lebanese government to prevent security deterioration through diplomatic channels. While Beirut seeks to promote stability and avoid another war, Hezbollah continues to act as part of Iran-led regional forces, a situation that could make Lebanon a key battleground in any future conflict.
