The Israeli Ministry of Health ordered the immediate closure of the private Medica Rafael Hospital in the Ramat Hahayal neighborhood of Tel Aviv. The hospital, owned by the health maintenance organizations Meuhedet and Leumit, was shut down following a surprise inspection that revealed serious deficiencies in the sterilization of medical instruments. The inspection found improper procedures in the operating rooms and central sterile supply, along with a significant shortage of staff, which posed a real risk to patient safety. As a result, a closure order was issued last night, mandating the hospital to cease all activities immediately to protect patients.
