50-Year-Old Man Drowns in Ashkelon Beach, Rescued in Critical Condition
A 50-year-old man was found unconscious and pulled from the sea in Ashkelon on Friday morning after drowning. Paramedics from Magen David Adom (MDA) arrived at the scene, performed CPR including rescue breaths and chest compressions, and transported him to Barzilai Medical Center in critical condition. MDA medic Yaron Kapach described the man as unresponsive, without pulse or breathing upon rescue.
This incident follows a series of recent drownings in Israel: a one-year-old girl was rescued in critical condition after drowning at her home in Kadima-Zoran the previous evening, and on Saturday, a 50-year-old man drowned near the Metzuda beach in Ashdod. Additionally, a one-year-old boy was found in serious condition after drowning in a private pool in Herzliya, and earlier that day, a 35-year-old woman was seriously injured by a boat propeller near the shore of the Sea of Galilee.
These events highlight a troubling pattern of drowning incidents across various locations in Israel over the past days, prompting emergency responders to remain vigilant and continue rescue efforts under challenging circumstances.
