Israeli Couple Explores Monogamy and Sexuality at France's Cap d'Agde Nudist Village
Roni and Nitzan Erez from Tel Aviv, who identify as sexuality researchers, visited Cap d'Agde, a renowned nudist village in southern France famous for its naturist population and large swinger community. Nitzan described the village as a hub for free and wild sexual expression, hosting massive parties where couples openly engage with others, though the Erez couple remains monogamous and considers themselves exceptions in this environment. They experienced the unique social norms of the village, such as walking and shopping nude, and observed the uninhibited sexual atmosphere without feeling pressured or uncomfortable.
The couple, together for nearly 30 years and parents to five children, shared insights from their journey to deepen their sexual connection within monogamy. Roni, who developed a scientifically validated method for female orgasm called "The Wave," and Nitzan, a former film and television professional, have led workshops for couples to enhance sexual desire and intimacy. They emphasized that many sexual issues stem from mental barriers rather than physical ones and that focusing inwardly on the relationship can revitalize passion.
They recounted how their exploration included attending nudist festivals and tantra retreats, and even observing other couples having sex side by side to learn about sexual dynamics. Despite external pressures to engage in partner swapping, they chose to maintain monogamy, finding that creativity, communication, and mutual exploration within their relationship sustain their desire. They also discussed the importance of regular date nights, varied sexual routines, and managing conflicts with openness to preserve intimacy.
Addressing common misconceptions, Roni highlighted that female sexuality is crucial for health and longevity, and that sexual desire can thrive even during menopause without hormone replacement by shifting mindset and embracing sexual energy. They advocate for breaking the stereotype that sex must be spontaneous and instead encourage deliberate effort and communication to keep the sexual relationship vibrant. Their approach combines emotional connection, experimentation, and respect for individual needs to maintain a fulfilling monogamous partnership.
