Singapore's BandLab Acquires Israeli AI Music Startup Aiode for Tens of Millions
Singapore-based music technology company BandLab Technologies has acquired Israeli AI music startup Aiode, which developed a platform enabling creators to integrate AI models into their music production. The acquisition price was not officially disclosed but is estimated to be in the tens of millions of dollars. Aiode offers a growing roster of virtual musicians across various instruments and styles, allowing users full control over who joins their production sessions and how each performance is directed. The company employs 12 people and has raised approximately $7 million from investors including Israeli funds Horizon Capital and Atooro Fund, as well as international investors Regah Ventures and Mindset Music Ventures.
Aiode's founders, brothers Idan and Blue Dobratzky, will continue leading the company as CEO and COO respectively. The startup will operate independently within BandLab Technologies, maintaining uninterrupted service and existing licensing agreements with musicians. This acquisition adds a third music creation platform to BandLab’s portfolio alongside BandLab and Cakewalk, with Aiode focusing on AI-driven workflows.
Aiode’s platform allows creators to start projects from scratch or import audio, then select from various musician models and styles to play along. Users can guide each part’s role and generate alternate versions without altering the rest of the track. Completed projects can be downloaded as separate channels or full mixes. All audio used to train Aiode’s AI models is fully licensed and traceable to its source, including recordings made in collaboration with professional musicians to ensure artistic authenticity.
Idan Dobratzky emphasized the shared vision with BandLab Technologies to innovate and empower music creators, highlighting their commitment to respecting artists’ identities. Blue Dobratzky noted the strategic fit with BandLab’s expertise and user base, which will support Aiode’s future growth amid evolving music creation methods. BandLab Technologies is headquartered in Singapore and operates as a division of Caldecott Music Group.
