After Rabbis' Letter, Hesder Yeshiva Association Says Students Will Enlist in Armored Corps Through Talks with the IDF
Following the "rabbis' letter" opposing yeshiva students serving in the Armored Corps because of the High Court of Justice decision to integrate female combat soldiers, the Hesder Yeshivot Association clarified in an official letter that the association council is in "ongoing dialogue with the IDF," and that the yeshiva heads are "making every effort to allow the enlistment of yeshiva students to the Armored Corps this coming August."
The letter was sent to all heads of Hesder yeshivot and was signed by members of the association council. The rabbis wrote that "the letter that was published in the media in recent days regarding enlistment to the Armored Corps is not a letter of the council, issuing such a letter is contrary to our position."
