Iran Says It May Target Elon Musk’s Business Interests
Iran is escalating its rhetoric toward Elon Musk. The semi-official news agency Fars reported that Tehran has decided to treat the American billionaire’s assets and business interests as potential targets for Iranian forces.
According to the report, Iranian authorities have begun mapping assets, investments and infrastructure linked to Musk across the Middle East, including in Arab states and Israel, in order to examine whether they should be included in a new target bank established by the country’s security apparatus.
The move comes after Iranian officials accused Musk of allowing companies under his control, led by Starlink, to be used by the United States and Israel for military and operational purposes. Fars claimed that Musk’s activity within American security projects, including Starshield and military satellite systems, provides the U.S. military with intelligence collection, secure communications and space-based observation capabilities.
The report also said that among the entities and infrastructure being examined by Iran are Starlink ground facilities in Israel, Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Oman, along with bodies and investors connected to SpaceX’s operations in the region.
