Son of Bobov Rebbe Visits Bat Yam for Major Hasidic Commemoration Event
On Wednesday evening, hundreds of Bobov Hasidim from across Israel gathered in Bat Yam for a festive meal marking the yahrzeit (anniversary of passing) of the Bobov Rebbe, author of 'Divrei Shlomo'. The central address was delivered by Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heshel Halberstam, son of the Bobov Rebbe, who traveled from abroad specifically for this significant occasion. The event featured a distinguished assembly of rebbes and rabbis from within and outside the Hasidic community.
In related Hasidic news, the Sanz Rebbe plans to cut short his vacation in Caesarea to lead thousands of followers in a protest at Prison 10, following the arrest of yeshiva students amid ongoing conscription disputes. This marks the second time a member of the Council of Torah Sages has appeared on the ground for this cause.
Other notable events include commemorations for the yahrzeit of Rabbi Aharon Mordechai Rotner zt"l, with the Tsharnobyl Rebbe visiting his grave on Mount of Olives and holding a memorial meal in Ashdod. The Hasidic community of Vasloi gathered in Bnei Brak to mark the 30-day mourning period for Rabbi Chaim Dov Halperin zt"l, featuring Torah study and memorial gatherings.
Additionally, the New Jersey Sanz Rebbe visited Israel for his grandson's wedding and toured holy sites with his followers. Celebrations also took place in Petah Tikva for a Chumash party at the Belz Hasidic school, and various other Hasidic dynasties marked significant anniversaries and joyous occasions across Israel and Ukraine.
These events reflect the vibrant communal life and deep spiritual traditions maintained by Hasidic groups in Israel and abroad, highlighting both moments of mourning and celebration within the community.
