Eight-Year-Olds Set New Guinness World Record Visiting 41 NYC Playgrounds in One Day
Two eight-year-old boys from New York City's Upper West Side, Hannah Bruner and Wilder McGraw, made history by breaking the Guinness World Record for the most playgrounds visited in a single day. On Friday, accompanied by their parents, they embarked on a grueling nine-hour bicycle journey across Manhattan, covering approximately 34 kilometers. Their goal was to surpass the previous record of visiting 26 playgrounds in one day.
Starting at 8:00 a.m. and finishing at 5:00 p.m., the boys managed to visit 41 different playgrounds. To ensure official recognition by Guinness World Records, they documented their journey with photos and videos at each playground, showing them using the equipment. They only stopped twice during the day to eat and recharge.
The parents shared that the idea originated from the children themselves, who wanted to achieve an extraordinary goal before they outgrew playgrounds. Despite the physical challenge and hunger, Hannah and Wilder expressed enjoyment and focus throughout the adventure. They have now submitted all necessary evidence to Guinness and are awaiting official confirmation of their new world record.
