The Haredi protests across the country turned into violent clashes. An elderly man about 93 was hit in the head by a vehicle in Petah Tikva, and a 21-year-old man was injured on Route 1 near Ganot. Police declared the demonstration illegal and called on drivers to choose alternative routes.
During the Haredi protests taking place today, Thursday, at several locations across the country, unusual violent incidents and protesters being run over were reported. An elderly man about 93 and a 21-year-old man were moderately injured.

On Jabotinsky Road in Petah Tikva, near the Geha Interchange, the elderly man was hit in the head by a car that accelerated toward the protesters. On Route 1 near the Ganot Interchange, the 21-year-old man was also hit by a vehicle that drove toward the protesters. He was evacuated to the hospital in moderate condition with injuries to his limbs and head.
Police are updating the road situation at this stage: Route 6, the Hadid Tunnel, is closed to traffic in both directions. In addition, Route 1 at Ganot westbound and Route 4 at HaShiv'a and Saba are blocked to traffic in both directions. Drivers are asked not to approach these roads, to obey police instructions, and to choose alternative routes.

It was also reported that, "The Israel Police is currently operating in the framework of an illegal demonstration on Route 1 heading west and east, during which protesters are blocking the road and clashing with police. At the same time, a police officer declared the gathering an illegal demonstration and, despite attempts at dialogue, the lawbreakers continue to congregate at the scene."
