Oshar Cohen Joins Judges Panel for Israel’s Next Eurovision Selection
Oshar Cohen, a prominent Israeli singer, songwriter, and music producer, has joined the judging panel of "HaKochav HaBa LaEurovision" (The Next Star for Eurovision), replacing Eden Hasson who is leaving the show. Cohen will serve as a judge for the upcoming 12th season of the music competition aired on Keshet 12, which will select Israel's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 to be held in Bulgaria.
Cohen is recognized as one of Israel’s leading artists in recent years, known for numerous hit songs that topped charts and amassed tens of millions of streams. He has performed at major venues across Israel, including Menora Mivtachim Arena, Caesarea, Park HaYarkon, Sammy Ofer Stadium, and Ramat Gan Stadium.
"HaKochav HaBa LaEurovision" is one of Israel’s most successful music shows, with the current season averaging a 17.3% rating. Historically, all Israeli representatives chosen through the show have reached the Eurovision finals. In the past two years, the program helped Israel achieve two consecutive second-place finishes with Noam Benin and Yuval Rafael.
Alongside Cohen, the judging panel will continue to include other members, and the show will again be hosted by Rotem Sela and Assi Azar. The new season is expected to air later this year on Keshet 12, produced by Teddy Productions.
