Oshar Cohen Joins Judges Panel for Israel’s Next Eurovision Selection
Oshar Cohen, a prominent Israeli singer, songwriter, and music producer, has joined the judging panel of "HaKochav HaBa LaEurovision" (The Next Star for Eurovision). He replaces Eden Hasson, who served as a judge in the previous season but is now leaving the show. The upcoming season will select Israel’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, which will be held in Bulgaria.
Cohen is recognized as one of Israel’s most successful artists in recent years, with numerous hit songs that have topped charts and accumulated tens of millions of streams. He has performed at major venues across Israel, including Menora Mivtachim Arena, Caesarea, Park HaYarkon, Sammy Ofer Stadium, and Ramat Gan Stadium.
"HaKochav HaBa LaEurovision" is one of Israel’s most popular music programs, with its 12th season averaging a 17.3% viewership rating. Historically, all Israeli representatives chosen through the show have advanced to the Eurovision finals. In the past two years, the program helped Israel achieve two consecutive second-place finishes with Noam Benin and Yuval Rafael.
Alongside Cohen, the judging panel will include returning members, and the show will again be hosted by Rotem Sela and Assi Azar. The new season is expected to air later this year on Keshet 12, produced by Teddy Productions.
