Despite Relative Calm, Hezbollah Continues Launching Drones at IDF Forces

A senior security official revealed that Hezbollah continues to launch drones at forces along the Yellow Line. According to him, the reason the issue has received less attention is that in recent days there have been many successes in defense and interception, meaning the organization has not let up on operating drones, but efforts to thwart them have been successful. The senior security official explained that MAFAT in the Ministry of Defense, the Technological and Logistics Brigade in the ATL, the Ground Forces, and the technological unit in Military Intelligence, together with additional security bodies and defense industries, have joined forces to provide a large number of operational solutions for detecting and intercepting fiber-optic drones and others. "There are results on the ground. There are successes. It takes a lot of patience on this issue. This includes defensive actions and smart actions carried out by the forces in the field," the official said. "Even in the Russia-Ukraine war there is no complete end-to-end solution. It is an operational challenge, but we are close to putting forward several effective solutions."

The official added that alongside the technological process, which continues to test new systems, patents, and proposals from civilian entities for detecting and intercepting drones, "the IDF understands that its modes of action in the field are no less important than interception." In his words, movement, varied fire, working with different intelligence bodies, and rapidly closing the fire loop against those same drone-operating cells are equally significant. "We are making their lives difficult."

The official described an attack on a safe house in Beirut that was followed by missile fire from Iran and Yemen. According to him, it also included strikes on field commanders and operatives who launch explosive drones against IDF forces along the Yellow Line. This was reported by Walla.

In recent days, IDF special forces have carried out operations deep inside Lebanese territory, beyond the Yellow Line, including efforts to push drone-operating cells away and to prevent Hezbollah from moving advanced anti-tank missile launchers, among them Kornet systems, from place to place.
