Dual US-Iranian Citizen Convicted for Illegally Exporting Sensitive Electronics to Iran

Mahdi Mohammad Sadeghi, a 43-year-old dual US-Iranian citizen from Massachusetts, was convicted in a Boston court for illegally exporting sensitive electronic components to Iran. The components, including accelerometers and gyroscopes, were shipped via a shell company in Switzerland to an Iranian firm producing navigation systems for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' drone program. Court documents reveal that this technology was integrated into Shahed suicide drones, one of which was used in a January 2024 attack at a military base in Jordan that killed three American soldiers.
