According to American and Israeli officials who spoke to Axios, Trump expressed concerns that the Israeli Defense Forces' presence in Syria is increasing tensions and could lead to escalation. "They do not want you there. You need to redeploy your forces," Trump reportedly told Netanyahu, adding that the same applies to Lebanon.
