Followers of Rabbi Berland Enter Palestinian Village in West Bank, Cause Damage, Five Arrested
Followers of Rabbi Eliezer Berland entered the Palestinian village of Kafr al-Haris in the West Bank without coordinating with the Israeli military. They visited the tombs of Joshua bin Nun and Caleb bin Yefuneh, which led to tensions as Palestinians threw stones at the group. The confrontation escalated into a disturbance, resulting in two Palestinians being injured and requiring medical treatment. Israeli police arrested five individuals suspected of causing damage at the site. Upon receiving the report, Israeli Defense Forces, Border Police fighters from the West Bank, and Ariel police station officers were dispatched to the scene. By the time security forces arrived, the group had already left. Authorities found damaged Palestinian vehicles and scattered stones at the location. The suspects, aged 16 to 20 and residents of Jerusalem, were apprehended near the Hizma checkpoint.
