Traffic Map as Massive Protests and Concerts Jam the Tel Aviv Area
By Tzion Ben-Gvir
A day of transport paralysis in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area: a combination of massive protests by the Jerusalem Faction and three major concerts is causing severe congestion throughout the center of the country. • The Israel Airports Authority to passengers: "Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport by train" • Police warn: "Avoid non-urgent travel"
The Israel Police Traffic Division reported today, Thursday, heavy traffic congestion on the main roads in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area. The congestion is being caused by a combination of a large-scale protest by the "Jerusalem Faction" over the arrest of yeshiva students, and three major concerts taking place tonight in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan and Petah Tikva.

At the same time, the Israel Airports Authority issued an official notice to the public this afternoon saying that due to planned protests in the area of Ben Gurion Airport, disruptions and traffic congestion are expected on the roads leading to Ben Gurion Airport. The authority recommends that passengers reach their flights via Israel Railways.
According to police estimates, more than 80,000 people are expected to attend the concerts, in addition to thousands of demonstrators arriving via organized transport from Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh, Ashdod, Bnei Brak, Modiin Illit, Elad and Ahisamakh. Chief Superintendent Amir Gibli, commander of the National Traffic Police, said the police are deployed with reinforced forces at the various locations. Police said they will allow the right to protest, but will not permit public disorder or disruption of traffic routes beyond the restrictions that will be defined. Drivers are asked to avoid non-essential travel and to stay updated through navigation apps.
