Israeli Singer Moshe Kursia Quits Social Media Citing Mental Overload

Israeli singer and content creator Moshe Kursia announced his complete disconnection from social media, deleting his Instagram account due to feeling overwhelmed and burdened by the online environment. He explained that after repeatedly reaching his limit, he realized that "dreams should be fulfilled with joy, otherwise it’s not worth it." Kursia emphasized the need to listen to his heart and find peace away from the digital noise.

This decision follows a recent humiliating experience Kursia shared about searching for an apartment in Tel Aviv. When inquiring about a Sabbath elevator, the building manager reacted negatively, questioning his religious observance and implying he might impose his beliefs on others. Kursia clarified that his faith requires him not to violate the Sabbath, and despite the building having an electric door, he was told there was no way to enter without breaking Sabbath rules. The landlord became upset that Kursia had not disclosed his religious lifestyle earlier.

Kursia candidly expressed his distress over the incident on Instagram, saying he felt close to breaking down. He later appeared on Channel 13 news but felt the interview downplayed the seriousness of the event and decided not to participate in similar interviews again. After a long search, Kursia happily announced he found an apartment suitable for his religious lifestyle, sharing a video from his new home and hoping it would be his last solo move.

The singer’s social media departure highlights the pressures artists face balancing personal beliefs and public exposure, as well as the challenges religious individuals encounter in secular urban settings like Tel Aviv.
