Israeli Private Equity Firm FIMI Raises Record $1.75 Billion in Eighth Fund

In November, Israeli private equity firm FIMI announced plans to raise $1.5 billion for its eighth fund. The firm has now completed the fundraising with a total of $1.75 billion, exceeding initial expectations. Demand for the fund surpassed $2.5 billion from investors both in Israel and internationally, marking a new record for FIMI.

The majority of investors in FIMI 8 are returning backers from previous funds. Following this raise, FIMI's total committed capital exceeds $6 billion, with assets under management surpassing $11 billion. The previous fund, raised in 2020, collected $1.25 billion and also saw strong investor interest.

FIMI was founded 30 years ago and is Israel's largest private equity fund, known for acquiring controlling stakes in companies and improving their operations. Its portfolio includes companies such as the defense firm Ashtrom Ashkelon, nursing services provider Amal, and pharmaceutical companies Kamada and Rafa, which FIMI plans to take public.

Founder and CEO Yishay Davidi commented on the challenging environment following nearly three years of conflict, emphasizing the firm's commitment to investing and supporting Israeli companies to grow and excel locally and globally. Senior partners include Gilad Bak, Lilach Asher Topilsky, Amit Ben-Zvi, and Amir Weidman.

Over its history, FIMI has acquired control of 108 companies and exited 77, including notable sales of Gilat, Teat Technologies, and Orbit. The firm continues to focus on value creation through active management and operational improvements.
