Elderly Woman Brutally Attacked in Ashkelon After Refusing to Give Money
An elderly woman in Ashkelon was violently attacked on Sunday after a man asked her for money. When she told him she had none, he chased and struck her on the head, causing her to fall and sustain injuries to her hand and leg. Family members reported that the assailant appeared intoxicated or drugged. The woman was taken by ambulance to Barzilai Medical Center and is currently in the emergency room.
This incident follows a recent violent robbery case in Haifa, where two women were sentenced to prison for attacking an 80-year-old neighbor. They had gained her trust during the war, stole money and credit card details, and later returned to assault her and withdraw thousands of shekels from her account.
Authorities continue to address violent crimes against elderly residents, highlighting the vulnerability of this population to such attacks.
