Ashkelon Woman Surviving October 7 Attack Faces Harassment Over Hosting Bedouin Helpers

A resident of Ashkelon, a survivor of the October 7 massacre in Sderot and recognized as a victim of hostile acts, has filed a police complaint after enduring ongoing harassment, threats, and property damage by neighbors. The conflict began after she invited Bedouin friends from Rahat to assist with maintenance and repairs at her rented home.

The police investigation revealed a series of escalating incidents over several weeks, including graffiti vandalism with slogans like "Kahane was right" and a Star of David symbol sprayed on her building's wall and car. Repeated property damage occurred in her yard, prompting multiple prior complaints and the arrest of some suspects who were later released under restrictive conditions barring contact with her and proximity to her home.

Despite these measures, recent events worsened when masked individuals broke into her yard at night, uprooted, and stole security cameras installed to monitor the harassment. The woman reported this new violation to police, stating the ongoing intimidation aims to pressure her to leave or stop hosting her Bedouin friends.

Following the latest complaint and video evidence, police detained a suspect for questioning and released him with conditions including a restraining order. Investigators continue open and covert operations to identify another suspect involved in the theft and damage.
