Bison Charges and Seriously Injures Tourist at Yellowstone National Park
A serious incident occurred at Yellowstone National Park in the United States last Friday evening when a tourist was severely injured after being charged by a bison. The event was captured by photographer Mike McCloud, who witnessed the bison exhibiting extreme agitation and repeatedly charging at nearby objects before targeting the visitor. The footage shows the large animal chasing the tourist through the trees, striking him forcefully and tossing him more than two meters into the air. The injured man was evacuated and taken to a hospital for urgent medical treatment, with his condition reported as serious.
Following the incident, the U.S. National Park Service issued renewed warnings to visitors, emphasizing that bison cause more human injuries in Yellowstone than any other wildlife. Despite their sometimes slow and cumbersome appearance, bison are highly unpredictable and can run at speeds three times faster than a human. Adult male bison can weigh up to one ton, underscoring the danger they pose when provoked or agitated.
